The practical route is a direct flight from Bali (Denpasar) to Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park, taking about one hour and fifteen minutes. There is no direct passenger ferry; the alternative is a multi-day private sailing. From Labuan Bajo you continue by boat or cruise.
Komodo National Park lies roughly 400 kilometres east of Bali. While that is a long sea crossing, it is a short, frequent flight — which is why most travellers fly to Labuan Bajo and begin their island voyage there.
It is possible but intense: an early flight, a full day touring by boat, and a late return. A relaxed two to four-day trip is far more rewarding, and we can arrange either with permits included.
Komodo National Park is open. From April 2026 a daily visitor quota of 1,000 applies, which makes advance booking important. We secure your permits and slots as part of every journey.
A week is the classic balance — a few days in Bali and three to four around Komodo. Honeymooners and families often take longer; a tailor-made Grand Voyage can run to two weeks or more.
